Meditation for Adults

Some say morning meditation is like the first ray of the sun that marks the beginning of a new day. Some say meditation is like the umbrella that helps protect from the downpour of sadness. For Atika Dhandhia meditation form- like bathing helps clean our body, meditating helps clean our thoughts and emotions to feel at ease throughout the day. “My daily practices of meditation have transformed me completely. I have always found answers to my problems in life myself, but now the answers come through a meditative mind and there is a vast difference. I now find it easy to challenge my problems with calmness and sincerity,” she says.
Your mind is the epicenter of your own world…
Whatever you feel or experience in the world is dependent upon your state of mind. For instance, you are on one of the most beautiful hill stations, among the mighty mountains with the cool breeze blowing. You get a phone call saying that something went wrong back home.  So in spite of being at a beautiful place you do not feel good.
On the other hand, you are walking in the sun on a summer morning and you get a phone call from your manager saying that you have been promoted. So in spite of having to walk in sun you feel very happy.
Meditation helps calm the mind. When you are in a peaceful state of mind, the quality of your life improves and you start loving your own world.  Meditation helps sharpen the mind. Life truly begins in 30's and 40's and that is the time when your intellect is mature enough to understand what one really wants and how to get it. You can facilitate this process even more by meditating as it becomes easy to clear all past impressions and create a new future for yourself by being firmly established in the present. For me mind is like a swing that moves to and fro from past to future. My daily practice of meditation helps me bring my mind to the present.
Balancing the bicycle of life...
As an adult it is very important to have a healthy balanced life.  Most of us have ridden a bicycle in our childhood and are aware of the balance it requires for a smother journey.. Meditation helps balance our bicycle of life.  As each day advances we jump between various responsibilities, tend to play different roles, deal with various kinds to situations and encounter different people. Meditation helps us to become more dynamic  in fulfilling our responsibilities, accept whatever comes our way and think rationally even in the most stressful situation. It helps us to do our work more efficiently.  It leaves us with an everlasting smile and helps us realize our life is an eternal celebration by bringing in an element of joy and newness in whatever we do.
